Cancellation Policy

We know that sometimes people need to re-schedule or cancel meetings. Our policy for regular causes (non-emergency and non-illness related causes) is below:

  1. If you cancel the day before your session or earlier: no cancellation fee.

  2. If you let us know the same day before 12pm: we charge 50% of the session fee.

  3. Any notices after 12pm same-day (or no-shows): we charge the full cost (100%) of the session fee.

  4. (If you show up later than 20 minutes to the session, it will be considered a no-show, with discretion left to the tutor/counselor on whether to honor the rest of the session).

Exceptions

  • Emergencies (these are evaluated on a case-by-case basis): no charge or fee. 

    • Examples of valid issues (not exhaustive):

      • Flat tires on the way to the meeting

      • Bereavement

      • Sudden health issue

    • Examples of things not considered an emergency (not exhaustive):

      • You realize you have a conflict for a school or personal event at the last minute

      • You forget that a session is scheduled

  • Illness

    • If you are ill, we kindly request that you either cancel or change the session to virtual. There is no fee for illness-related changes (regardless of when you inform us). We all get sick, but no one wants to spread it!

    • If you do show up to class sick, the tutor/counselor may choose to cancel class at their discretion. If this happens, you will only be charged a pro-rated amount.
